HeroSet for Garmin watches. Effective 2 November 2026.
What HeroSet uses
While a set is running, HeroSet reads the watch’s motion sensor to count reps, and its heart rate and daily calorie total to show them on screen. These readings are not saved. HeroSet asks for two permissions: sensor access, for motion and heart rate, and the one the Connect IQ Store lists as “Communication & Data Transmission”, which hands today’s progress to our HeroFace watch face on the same watch (see below).
What HeroSet saves
Your daily counts and goal, XP and streak, the last day you finished all three exercises, the count of a set in progress, your last 30 sets, what it has learned about how you move, and the last day you saved a set and how many days you have saved one (both for the rating request, see below), and the day it last asked for a rating. This stays in HeroSet’s storage on your watch and is deleted when you remove the app. If you use HeroFace, the face keeps its own copy of your latest progress until you remove the face.
What HeroSet shares
Your data stays on your watch. HeroSet sends no data to the developer, to Garmin Connect or to anyone else.
On watches with Connect IQ 4.2 or later, HeroSet leaves a short summary on the watch itself so that HeroFace can show it: today’s date, reps and goal, your rank and how far you are into it, your streak and the last day you finished all three exercises. Only apps from this developer can read it.
On watches that support it, HeroSet may ask for a rating in the Connect IQ Store: after you return to the dashboard having saved a set today, on the third or later distinct day you have saved a set, at most once in 30 days, and never when the app opens. Your watch first asks the store whether it may show Garmin’s rating screen; HeroSet adds none of its data to that request and keeps only the day it asked and the set-day count above.
Purchases
Garmin handles purchases through the Connect IQ Store under Garmin’s privacy policy. The developer never sees your payment details.
This website
No cookies, analytics or third-party scripts. The web host may keep standard access logs.
