Help for RevDay, a watch face with a speedometer-style dial.

Contact

Questions or bugs: email hello@verden.watch. Please include your watch model and its software version, and what the face showed at the time.

The settings

There are two, in the face’s own settings: Needle, which reading the needle shows (Steps, Heart rate, Intensity minutes, Floors climbed or Watch battery; Steps is the default), and Accent colour, the colour of the needle, from a short list. The accent only ever changes the colour, never what a number means. The black-and-white screens have no accent setting.

If a setting is ever missing or can’t be read, the face simply shows its defaults: Steps, in Amber.

Common questions

Where is my speed?

RevDay is not a GPS speedometer: it does not measure speed or pace. The dial is a speedometer’s shape; the needle shows steps toward your daily goal, or another reading you choose.

What do the numbers around the dial mean?

The top of the dial is your goal. The dial keeps reading to twice the goal, and past that a small ×2, ×3 mark counts the laps. The exact number is always shown on the face.

There is no needle, and the face says NO DATA YET, NOT ON THIS WATCH or NO GOAL SET.

NO DATA YET: your watch has no valid reading right now. NOT ON THIS WATCH: your watch cannot give the reading you chose (floors need a watch that counts floors). NO GOAL SET: the reading is measured against a goal and your watch has none (steps never: with no step goal they read against 10,000).RevDay never swaps in another reading to fill the gap.

What is the small gauge?

Body Battery, Garmin’s own reading from your watch, as a column of five bars at the right of the dial (a small arc on black-and-white screens). With no recent reading it shows “--”; a real 0 is an empty gauge.

Why does the heart rate lag?

The needle shows your watch’s latest heart-rate reading, updated about every minute or two. It is not live.

I use a wheelchair.

In wheelchair mode, on watches that have Garmin’s pushes count, Steps follows your pushes against your push goal.

Why does the face ask for a permission?

To read Body Battery from your watch for its gauge. It reads the newest value only, keeps it in memory and never stores or sends it. See the privacy policy.

What does the face store?

Only your setting choices, small numbers kept in the app’s own settings storage on the watch. No readings are stored.
